Kazakh president recommends diplomats make new approaches

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has recommended diplomats should make new approaches to their work. The president made this statement in Astana on Wednesday, while delivering an interactive lecture to the Nazarbayev University students.

“Our foreign ministry must change the way they work,” he added. “Besides wearing a tailcoat, going to parties and building embassies here and there, it is necessary to find out the pragmatic and beneficial ways for Kazakhstan’s cooperation.”

He stressed that a new approach to international cooperation is being formed today. The focus will be made on small and medium enterprises in domestic industries. This must be a guideline for Kazakh diplomats.

“Our foreign ministry must re-establish its work to operate this way,” Nazarbayev said.
